How Does Full-Spectrum CBD Work?

Research suggests full-spectrum CBD affects the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates various physiological processes, such as appetite, pain and immune response.

CBD, including full-spectrum CBD, may interact with two receptors in the ECS—cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) in the central nervous system and cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2) in the peripheral nervous system—resulting in a range of potential effects, such as pain reduction and anti-anxiety benefits. However, contrasting research indicates CBD may not significantly impact either receptor, suggesting more comprehensive research is needed to verify this claim.

CBD and THC are among the most studied phytocannabinoids found in the hemp plant. Together, they may lead to different effects compared to other types of CBD due to the proposed entourage effect. THC is one of the major intoxicatingly psychoactive cannabinoids that can lead to a “high” feeling at certain doses. However, due to the small amount of THC allowed in hemp-based products in the U.S., full-spectrum CBD shouldn’t cause this effect. Excerpt from Forbes Health
